Dr. Merve Ayyüce Kızrak
With a career spanning over 16 years, Dr. Merve Ayyüce KIZRAK embarked on her professional journey in 2009. Graduating with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Haliç University in 2009 and 2011, respectively, she furthered her academic pursuits with a Ph.D. in the same field from Yıldız Technical University in 2021. Her doctoral research focused on the application of deep learning in crowd surveillance. In 2020, she augmented her expertise with an AI Strategy certificate from the University of California, Berkeley. She also holds a Master’s in Economics and Financial Technology from Bahçeşehir University. Complementing her academic achievements, she has completed 42 hours of Project Management training from a PMI-certified institution. She holds an ISO/IEC 42001:2023 AI System Management Lead Auditor certificate.
Dr. KIZRAK’s professional journey is not confined to academic and institutional roles. She is deeply committed to AI, as evidenced by her involvement in AI governance and community initiatives. From 2009 to 2019, she served as a research and teaching assistant at the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at Haliç University. Since 2019, she has been an academic at the Artificial Intelligence Engineering Department at Bahçeşehir University. She has also been employed as an AI Specialist at The Digital Transformation Office, The Presidency of the Republic of Turkiye since 2019. Her commitment to the field extends to her role as a member of the OECD’s AI Governance and AI Index Working Groups on behalf of the Republic of Turkiye. She is a member of the Responsible AI Institute. She actively participates in the AI Safety Fundamentals, as a facilitator of the AI Governance course by Equiano Institute and the University of Cape Town, and as a participant in the AI Alignment by BlueDot Impact and the University of Cambridge.
In addition to all these works, she has carried out AI projects and provided consultancy on agriculture, waste recycling, crowd surveillance, public policies, services, and product development. She has won first prizes four times in Turkiye’s leading AI-themed competitions. With its AI courses and regular blog posts on Udemy and BTK academy, it appeals to a readership that includes developers, researchers, and senior executives.
