İlker Altıntaş graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 1992 and completed his master’s degree in artificial intelligence from the same department in 1995. He began his career as a research assistant at METU’s Computer Engineering Department in 1992, while also working as a researcher in national and international projects at the TÜBİTAK Software Research and Development Center (SRDC). Subsequently, from 1998 to 2000, he co-founded Monad Software, which developed solutions for the healthcare sector.

Between 2000 and 2012, Dr. Altıntaş worked as an executive at Cybersoft Information Technologies, leading numerous projects and products in finance and banking. During this period, he continued his academic pursuits, completing his Ph.D. in software engineering at METU’s Computer Engineering Department in 2007.

Since 2012, he has held various roles at Akbank, initially as Corporate Architecture Manager, then as Head of Architecture and Core Banking, and from 2017 to 2023 as Executive Vice President responsible for Technology and Operations. Between 2018 and 2023, he also served on the boards of Akbank AG, AkÖde Inc., Bulutistan, and Ak Portfolio.

Leading the transformation and advancement of Information Technology in both new startups and established organizations, İlker Altıntaş has been working as Managing Partner at his independent management and technology consultancy, NIA, since April 2023, providing corporate firms with technology, digital, and management consulting services.

Dr. Altıntaş completed the Sabancı University Executive MBA program in 2016, where he also attended leadership and entrepreneurship programs at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Since 2021, he has been teaching “Digital Transformation and Innovation” in the master’s programs at Sabancı University’s School of Management. He has numerous articles and publications in international conferences and journals and serves on program committees at national and international conferences. He is also a member of the Advisory Boards of the Sabancı University School of Management MBA Program, the Data and Analytics Center, and the METU Computer Engineering Industry Advisory Board.”
