Batuhan Özcan

Batuhan Ozcan is the founder of Syntonym, which originally started during Batuhan’s graduate studies at Imperial College London. Syntonym is a patent-pending Generative AI technology that solves the privacy/utility dilemma by anonymising visual data in a lossless way. Having worked on machine learning and computer vision problems, when GDPR came into effect, Batu started working on a privacy solution that would allow AI/ML developers to use visual data without blurring faces. Syntonym was officially recognised as the first generative AI development company in Turkey. In January 2021, Syntonym UK was established and Syntonym TR was restructured into a subsidiary of Syntonym UK.

As founder of Syntonym, Batuhan Özcan received the Fortune Turkey 40 under 40 award, which recognises successful, influential and forward-thinking leaders who create social and economic value through effective projects in their respective fields.
