With a career spanning over 35 years connecting technology, innovation, and social impact, Fernando Gomes de Oliveira is one of Brazil’s leading figures in the practical application of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies such as 5G/6G, IoT, and Cybersecurity. He studied Computer Engineering at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP) and has worked globally on digital transformation projects across Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia — notably leading major initiatives for a decade in Dubai. He currently serves as CIO of Intellinet Conectividade Inteligente, Vice President of Technological Ecosystems at the Smart City Business America Institute, and Coordinator of the Emerging Technologies Hub within the Smart Cities Vertical at ACATE, where he promotes solutions that integrate meaningful connectivity and quality of life in urban environments. Fernando is also a member of AI Brasil and a board advisor to I2AI (International Association for Artificial Intelligence), where he coordinates the Applied AI for Business Committee. Across these roles, he applies a systemic vision and focuses on generating scalable, positive impact—whether by supporting startups as an angel investor and mentor or by fostering urban innovation policies grounded in data and ethics.
